About this stotra

Sri Rama Apaduddharaka Stotram means "The hymn to Sri Rama, the Deliverer from Calamities". Āpat (आपद्) = calamity, distress, danger, obstacle. Uddhāraka (उद्धारक) = deliverer, rescuer, lifter; Stotram (स्तोत्रम्) = hymn of praise. This is a prayer to Sri Rama, the avatar of Lord Vishnu who re-established dharma in his lifetime by being an example for all. An accomplished warrior and a sticker for ethics, Rama is beloved to all Hindus.
This stotra is specifically composed for protection from dangers, obstacles, and difficulties. Each verse ends with the refrain "rāmāyāpannivāriṇe" (to Rama, the remover of distress), emphasizing Rama's role as the protector and savior in times of trouble.
According to the phala shruti (fruit/result) verses, regular recitation of this stotra has these benefits:
Protects from all dangers and calamities
Removes obstacles and distress
Grants prosperity and fulfillment of desires
Provides the protection of Rama and Lakshmana
Ultimately leads to liberation (moksha)
The stotra is traditionally recited during times of difficulty, before undertaking important tasks, or as part of daily Rama worship for divine protection.
