About this stotra

The Sri Hari Stotram, known by its opening words Jagajjalapalam ('Sustainer of the web of the world'), is attributed to Swami Brahmananda. Through eight richly layered verses, each dense with compound Sanskrit epithets, the hymn portrays Hari as the ocean-dweller, the sky-blue Lord of unfathomable maya, the husband of Lakshmi, and the sole bridge across the three worlds.
The stotram is celebrated for its beautiful wordplay and is often set to classical music, each verse illuminating a different facet of Hari — his cosmic role, Vedantic essence, and role as the source of liberation.Phalashruti: One who daily recites this ashtakam with a concentrated mind will without doubt attain Vishnu's sorrowless state.
