About this stotra

Lord Vishnu is one of the principal deities of Hinduism, known as the preserver and protector of the universe. He is part of the Hindu trinity (Trimurti), which includes Lord Brahma and Lord Shiva. Lord Vishnu is often depicted with a lotus, mace, conch, and discus, symbolizing his divine attributes and powers.
The shloka Apavitra Pavitro is a verse dedicated to Lord Vishnu, emphasizing his purifying power. It asserts that regardless of one's state of purity or impurity, or whatever condition one may be in, simply remembering Lord Vishnu, specifically in his form as the lotus-eyed one (Puṇḍarīkākṣa), brings about both external and internal purification. The verse highlights the transformative power of divine remembrance, suggesting that the act of recalling Lord Vishnu's name and form can cleanse and sanctify an individual, making them pure in both body and mind. This shloka is often recited in rituals and daily prayers to invoke purity and spiritual cleanliness, underscoring the belief in the sanctifying presence of Lord Vishnu.
