रामचन्द्राय जनकराजजा मनोहराय
मामकाभीष्टदाय महित मङ्गलम् ॥
rāmachandrāya janakarājajā manōharāya

Auspiciousness to Rāmacandra, the captivating delight of the daughter of King Janaka (Sītā), the honored fulfiller of our heart's desires — Maṅgalam!
कोसलेशाय मन्दहास दासपोषणाय
वासवादि विनुत सद्वरद मङ्गलम् ॥ 1 ॥
kōsalēśāya mandahāsa dāsapōṣaṇāya
vāsavādi vinuta sadvarada maṅgaḻam ॥ 1 ॥
Auspiciousness to the lord of Kōsala, with a gentle smile, the nourisher of his servants, the best bestower of boons praised by Indra and others — Maṅgalam! (1)
चारु कुङ्कुमो पेत चन्दनानु चर्चिताय
हारकटक शोभिताय भूरि मङ्गलम् ॥ 2 ॥
chāru kuṅkumō pēta chandanānu charchitāya
hārakaṭaka śōbhitāya bhūri maṅgaḻam ॥ 2 ॥
Abundant auspiciousness to the one adorned with charming kuṅkuma and sandalwood paste — resplendent with garland, bracelets, and ornaments — Maṅgalam! (2)
ललित रत्नकुण्डलाय तुलसीवनमालिकाय
जलद सद्रुश देहाय चारु मङ्गलम् ॥ 3 ॥
lalita ratnakuṇḍalāya tulasīvanamālikāya
jalada sadruśa dēhāya chāru maṅgaḻam ॥ 3 ॥
Beautiful auspiciousness to the one wearing graceful jeweled earrings and a tulasī-forest garland — whose body is like a rain-cloud — Maṅgalam! (3)
देवकीपुत्राय देव देवोत्तमाय
चाप जात गुरु वराय भव्य मङ्गलम् ॥ 4 ॥
dēvakīputrāya dēva dēvōttamāya
chāpa jāta guru varāya bhavya maṅgaḻam ॥ 4 ॥
Glorious auspiciousness to the son of Devakī (Kausalyā), the supreme among all deities — the most exalted, who received the excellent divine bow from the Guru (Viśvāmitra) — Maṅgalam! (4)
पुण्डरीकाक्षाय पूर्णचन्द्राननाय
अण्डजातवाहनाय अतुल मङ्गलम् ॥ 5 ॥
puṇḍarīkākṣāya pūrṇachandrānanāya
aṇḍajātavāhanāya atula maṅgaḻam ॥ 5 ॥
Incomparable auspiciousness to the lotus-eyed, the one with a face like the full moon — whose vehicle is Garuḍa, the great one born of the egg — Maṅgalam! (5)
विमलरूपाय विविध वेदान्तवेद्याय
सुजन चित्त कामिताय शुभग मङ्गलम् ॥ 6 ॥
vimalarūpāya vividha vēdāntavēdyāya
sujana chitta kāmitāya śubhaga maṅgaḻam ॥ 6 ॥
Auspicious fortune to the pure-formed one, known through all the Vedāntas — the fulfiller of all the desires in the hearts of the virtuous — Maṅgalam! (6)
रामदास मृदुल हृदय तामरस निवासाय
स्वामि भद्रगिरिवराय सर्व मङ्गलम् ॥ 7 ॥
rāmadāsa mṛdula hṛdaya tāmarasa nivāsāya
svāmi bhadragirivarāya sarva maṅgaḻam ॥ 7 ॥
All auspiciousness to the Lord of Bhadragiri — who dwells in the tender lotus-heart of Rāmadāsa (the servant of Rāma) — Maṅgalam! (7)
