About this stotra
The Anjaneya Dvādaśa Nāma Stotram is a short yet powerful hymn that praises Lord Hanumān through twelve sacred names. Each name highlights a different divine quality — his birth as the son of Anjanā and Vāyu, his unmatched strength and courage, his unwavering devotion to Lord Rāma, his heroic crossing of the ocean, his role in comforting Sītā, restoring Lakṣmaṇa’s life, and crushing the pride of Rāvaṇa.
These names are not merely descriptive; they embody Hanumān’s spiritual essence — valor combined with humility, devotion fused with wisdom, and strength guided by Dharma. The stotram teaches that remembering Hanumān is remembering fearlessness, clarity, and divine protection.
The final verse highlights the protective power of this hymn. Reciting these twelve names daily—especially before sleep and during travel—is believed to remove fear, protect from harm, and grant inner strength and victory in life’s challenges.
Because it is short, rhythmic, and easy to remember, this stotram is often taught to children and recited by devotees seeking confidence, courage, and blessings from Hanumān.
