About this stotra

Uma Maheswara Stotram means: the hymn in praise of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
Lord Shiva, also known as Maheswara, is one of the principal deities of Hinduism, revered as the destroyer and transformer within the Trimurti, the Hindu trinity that includes Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Goddess Parvati, also known as Goddess Uma, is the consort of Lord Shiva and represents love, fertility, and devotion. Together, they symbolize the perfect union of divine masculine and feminine energies.
The Uma Maheswara Stotram is a devotional hymn that praises the divine couple, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. The verses repeatedly offer salutations to both deities, highlighting their eternal youth and mutual affection. The hymn describes them as being worshipped by other gods like Lord Vishnu and Lord Brahma, and emphasizes their role as protectors of the universe. The stotram also mentions their attributes, such as Lord Shiva's association with the bull (vṛṣa) and their adornment with sacred ash (vibhūti). The text underscores their significance as the ultimate refuge for devotees, granting blessings and fulfilling desires. Reciting this hymn with devotion, especially at the three junctions of the day, is said to bestow all auspiciousness and lead the devotee to the abode of Lord Shiva after a long and prosperous life.
