The verse Brahma Murari Tripuranatakari is a prayer to the Navagraha, invoking each of the nine celestial deities by their traditional epithets. The verse begins by addressing Lord Brahma, Lord Murari (a name for Lord Vishnu), and Tripurantakari (a name for Lord Shiva), symbolizing the creation, preservation, and destruction aspects of the universe. It then continues to mention each of the nine celestial bodies: Bhanu (Sun), Shashi (Moon), Bhumisuta (Mars), Lord Budha (Mercury), Lord Guru (Jupiter), Lord Shukra (Venus), Lord Shani (Saturn), Lord Rahu, and Lord Ketu. The prayer seeks their blessings for a good morning, implying a request for their favorable influence throughout the day. The verse highlights the importance of these celestial bodies in daily life and the belief in their power to affect human destiny.
