About this stotra
The Subrahmanya Pancharatna Stotram is a five-verse hymn of surrender to Lord Subrahmanya, the six-faced son of Shiva who rides the divine peacock. Each verse concludes with the refrain brahmaṇyadēvaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadyē — "I take refuge in Brahmanyadeva" — building a meditative rhythm of devotion. The stotram paints vivid images of the Lord: his body anointed with sandalwood, his twelve divine eyes, his twelve arms bearing weapons, and his radiant form worshipped by all the gods.
The hymn celebrates Kumara as both the granter of desires and the embodiment of the Vedas themselves (trayītanuṃ). He is described as gracious to all beings, born of the Ganga, and beautiful as Kamadeva. The verses invoke his presence at Kumara Dhara, linking the praise to sacred pilgrimage sites associated with Skanda worship.
The concluding verse promises that one who recites these five stanzas with devotion and a mind fixed on Brahmanyadeva will obtain all desired enjoyments in this world, and at the end of life, attain oneness with Guha himself.
