About this stotra

Hayagriva — from haya (horse) and griva (neck) — is the horse-necked form of Vishnu, honoured as the deity of learning and speech and the restorer of the lost Vedas. He is invoked for clarity of mind, memory, and command of language.
The Sri Hayagriva Sampada Stotram is a ślokatraya — three verses — by the saint Vadiraja. Each turns on repeating the name 'Hayagriva, Hayagriva, Hayagriva': the first says it drives sins away, the second that speech then flows like the Ganga, the third that the sound itself can fling open the doors of Vaikuntha. Sampada means abundance or attainment, which the verses are said to bring to those who recite them. A meditation-verse on Hayagriva (jnananandamayam devam) opens the text.
